These days, I'm an adult who can't give up the smell of gasoline or board sports, but as a child I had very sensitive skin. Even the slightest fuzz on the yarn or the fabric's knit could irritate me, and I struggled with that. That's why what I wanted from a T-shirt was quality that lets you enjoy soothing, luxurious comfort every day, even with irritated skin or a tired body.
Over the years, we've made T-shirts from extra-long-staple cotton, Supima cotton, US cotton, and more, as well as using high-twist yarn with a Z-twist for added strength and old-fashioned loopwheel machines that let the fabric drop naturally under gravity to bring out its full texture. Our journey led us to smooth-knit fabric, with the same stitch pattern on both sides.
Because the stitches overlap in alternating layers to create a dense surface, the fabric is thicker than single jersey. But since the same stitch pattern isn't knitted side by side, the finished surface has fewer bumps and feels even smoother against the skin.
Special softening and washing processes remove fuzz, adding a uniquely smooth, cashmere-like feel and a silk-like drape for an ideal, luxurious comfort that feels effortless. It's pre-washed, so it also resists shrinkage.
Cool and comfortable in summer, and warm in winter: its knit construction helps retain body heat when layered under outerwear. It's the perfect everyday companion, all year round.
